Forsyth Free Tax Program

ESR’s Forsyth Free Tax program provides free tax preparation to people with low-moderate income.

If you make less than $60,000, you can have your taxes prepared for free through volunteer sites. Taxes are prepared by volunteers who are trained by IRS staff members. Volunteers use IRS-approved software for return preparation. Trained volunteers prepare and electronically file your tax return. If you are due a refund, you can usually expect to receive it within ten days of filing. VITA sites file most simple returns.

ESR is located at 3480 Dominion Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Appointments are required for drop-offs. Appointment times are Mondays: 9 am – 2 pm | Tuesdays: 1 pm – 6 pm | Wednesdays: 9 am – 2pm | Thursdays: 9 am – 2pm | beginning January 29th, 2024.
